I Remember Doing A Good Deed

It was on a hot summer afternoon back in 2001. I was coming home from work and I was tired. I just wanted to get home as soon as possible. This was when I was working in White Plains so I usually took the Metro North home from work and where I get off there's this huge hill I have to walk up. So when I got to the top of this hill I went inside this cab base that's on the corner. I told the dispatcher where I was going and he told me it would be a 20 minute wait. I was tired so I told him to forget it and I left. I walked around the corner in front of the supermarket where there are usually a couple of cabs there. I was right! There was only one cab and I was quick to get it.

As I was about to get in I noticed an old woman that lived on my block with a lot of groceries in her cart. I knew she wouldn't be able to push that cart all the way home with all those groceries in the blazing heat. At the moment I just wanted to jump in and tell him my destination. But then I thought, "If it were my grandma I would want someone to look out for her". So, I insisted that she take the cab instead. I helped her with her groceries and put them in the trunk with her shopping cart. I wasn't sure if she has cab fare so I gave the cabbie the fare and I told her to take care and have a nice day. What I was really thinking was "enjoy my ride".

Even though I was tired I'd rather walk those three blocks than hearing about an old woman who passed out on her way home from the supermarket. I wouldn't want that on my conscience, knowing I could have done something to prevent it. So I did! I just seemed like the humane thing to do.

What good deed have you done?

Enough Is Enough!

Breakups can be hard especially when you think it's with someone you feel you could be with for the rest of your life. Now add 10 years of friendship to that. It's like your dating your best friend and that could be the best feeling in the world. But this is reality and it has to poke its head in when things seem to good to be true sometimes. I believe it's God's way of showing you peoples true colors.

As you all know I get pretty personal on this here blog and tonight I've got something on my chest that I really need to release. I can't for the sake of me understand why some dudes never know when enough is enough! As I've moved on and I'm happy I'm still reminded of a recent douche lord that I wasted energy on for too long. I'm sick of hearing that he's asking how I'm doing, I'm sick of hearing that you were talking about me, and I am sick of hearing that my name is even still coming out of your mouth like diarrhea! It's bad enough you've gone and worked your way into my network of friends online. I feel like you're everywhere with out being there. GO AWAY ALREADY!

If anyone knows me they know that I am the nicest, most sincere and sweet person. It takes a lot to push me to the dark side of my zodiac sign, the crab! What I would really love is if this guy would do me the kind favor of forgetting me, erasing our relationship from his past, and deleting any great memories from our friendship out of his brain. Enough is enough already! Just move on because I have and I would appreciate it if you did the same.

Happy New Years!

First I want to say Happy New Years to everyone!
This year I've had a lot of ups and downs professionally and personally. I started 2009 newly separated from my boyfriend of a year and I was miserable at my job. I was working a job that I literally hated but it paid the bills. So I sucked it up and stayed. But I am a firm believer in God and he knew how I felt about my situation and what I really wanted to do with my life so he took me out of that situation and cleared a path for me. I was laid off in May and since then I have put forth more effort into my radio show and I began to focus more of my time on writing. I've always been the type of girl known to write in her diary every night. I'm not ashamed to say that I did that up until just 3 years ago and I must say I missed it. This time I decided to do a digital diary and leave my life as an open book to you all.

If you've read some of my other posts you'll notice that I wrote about heartbreak and that's because a douche lord from my past came back into my life and I gave him another chance. Sometime I think I'm too nice! Well anyway it was a blessing because had it not been for those nights where I was pouring my heart out on this laptop I would not have gotten the job of writing about love, sex, and relationships for Singersroom.com. Which I was super excited about because it's my first paid writing gig (pats on my shoulder)! Now I can call myself an official freelance writer, lol.

God puts people in your life for a reason. Even though at the time I didn't know why douche lord was back, now I know why. I'm thankful for what I have now and I know I deserve what I have now.

So thanks douche lord!!! I'm a success and I continue to be a bigger success story in 2010.

My Fave Winter Accessories

Hey Dolls,

I hate the winter but I love some of the winter fashion accessories. It gets super cold in New York so on those days it's not wise to go out without something on my head. Especially when I get head colds very often in the winter time. So to alleviate all of that I love wearing these very cool fashion forward wool slouchy hats.

Take a look at some of my fave hat looks, lol.

PNC / Urban Latino Radio Holiday Party

Hey Dolls,

With the holiday's rolling around this means company holiday parties. Most of you know I am a radio personality for PNCRADIO.fm and we had our first Holiday Party with our sister station Urban Latino.

I had such an amazing time. Since my show is on Saturday's I don't get to see alot of the other personality's and staff that much, so it was great letting our hair down and having a blast. Of course music was provided by PNC / Urban Latino DJ's such as DJ Max Carnage, DJ Mark, DJ Blazer One, and more.

They even had a Santa there, ha ha ha...lolol.. Love my PNC / Urban Latino Radio Family.

Smooches xoxo

What are some memories you have from company holiday party's?

Happy Birthday Mom!

Hey Dolls,

I literally hate the winter and that shouldn't be a big surprise...look at my name. One of the best things of winter though is all the birthdays of all the people who mean so much to me. In November alone, I have 7 birthdays to celebrate. The most important is November 7th which is my mother's birthday. Good old scorpio!

I love you Mommy & Happy Birthday!
Smoochies xoxo

Living in the "Fast Lane" with Shakeera Frazer!

Hey Dolls,

One of my best friends in the enitre world Shakeera Frazer has this amazing book out that she self published. Her book is titled "Fast Lane" and it's a story of four trendy NYC girls that all have a common bond of friendship. They go through issues that all friends face and problems in thier personal lives. It's such a great read that I didn't want to put the book down.

Shakeera has also written for http://www.guysandgirlsonline.com/, and she has done radio interviews on The Industry Takeover on PNCRADIO.fm with me and my co-host Miss Nina Leigh, and Writers Life Chats on Blogtalkradio.com with host Kisha Green.

This summer Shakeera had a book launch party at her house and it was uber fab. That's where the above picture was taken.

For more information on Shakeera Frazer and her book Fast Lane you can visit her website http://www.shakeerafrazer.com/
What books are you guys reading now?
