She's Pretty For a Dark Skinned Girl.....

I just hate it when I hear "Oh she's pretty for a dark skinned girl". What is that supposed to insinuate that dark skinned girls can't be considered beautiful? Society has the perception that light skin, long hair, colored eyes is the only thing that can be considered beautiful. It makes my stomach turn.

I found this video that I think everyone should watch, take in, and learn from. I love my brown skin and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Does T.I Deserve Mercy from Fans + Preview No Mercy

In the December 2010 / January 2011 issue of Vibe magazine T.I holds down one of the covers (Keri Hilson holds the other ) in a intimate interview with Erick Parker titled Mercy Me and it got me thinking...Does he deserve mercy from the fans this time around? We've all followed and watched T. I go down this horrible path of destruction, in and out of prison, and now drug abuse. Has the the King lost it?

In the interview T.I opens up to Parker about unfair punishment by the judge, his drug addiction to Oxycontin and Hydrocodone, feeling like dying, and comparisons to Tupac!
Read the exerts below:

On the officer stating the smell of weed is what alluded them to search the vehicle that fateful night he and wife Tiny were pulled over:
"I don't smoke weed. I don't allow anybody to smoke weed in my car. I don't see how he could have. I'm not going to point the finger and call him a liar. It doesn't benefit my situation much to stand on soapbox and say, "He's a liar, he's a liar," But there were no ashes in the ashtray. There is no weed in my system."

On how he got a drug habit:
"I had a lot of work done to my teeth. Oral surgery, extractions, six, seven, eight root canal. Between January and February. Of course for the pain they game me Oxycontin and Hydrocodone. And mind you, October 13Th, 2007, I had cut off everything - weed, alcohol. Then I get these pills and I start taking them for the pain at first. And them I'm like, Wait - this shit makes me feel good. And it's legal. After the pain went away I kept taking it. I had like five, six perscriptions. So I had like 80 pills. Everybody else might drink or smoke a blunt, I took a pain pill. Times when I had 18-20 hour days, I'd take a pain pill. It takes the edge off. You're really not stressed or worried about the problems of the day."

On feeling like dying:
"I felt like dying but I ain't never considered killing myself. I felt like it would be easier to die than to go through whatever it is that I go through. I never considered killing myself. But I've definitely gotten tired."

On the decision to finally marry the mother of his children, Tiny, after years together:
"I could have had it either way. I was happy as we was, but I understand that as a woman it's a sense of entitlement, security, an accolade women treasure. Knowing how much it meant to her - sure. I don't have any objections. I'm not going nowhere. If that's what I can do for you, let's do it. I'm riding with you, you rode with me. Let's go. If you ask yourself what does a woman have to do to assure you that she is down for you, everything you could possibly answer she has already done."
On his comparisons to Tupac:
"I was out for nine months without trouble... In those nine months, I got [sentenced to] another 11 months. When Pac got out, he was out for nine months, but after those nine months her died. There is some light at the end of that tunnel. I might not feel like living all the time, but I damns sure don't feel like dying. I might want to press pause, fast forward, or rewind. But I damn sure don't want to die."

After reading this interview I got a better understanding of T.I and what he and his family is going through. As a women in a family where all the men travel that same path I just pray that he gets the help he needs because he 's in a better position to help than most. It doesn't matter how many times we mess up, it's what we do to redeem ourselves.

So I ask does the King deserve mercy from fans?

Let me know your comments.

Make or Break time for Keri Hilson w/ No Boys Allowed Album

Hey Divas,

So there's been plenty of controversy over Keri Hilson's new video featuring Rick Ross for her new single "The Way You Love Me". I actually like Keri Hilson but I definitely see a change in her since this video has come out. I'm not sure if its a plea for attention in a world where Beyonce is going double platinum in a week, and Lady Gaga sweeping the VMA's...but there's something going on here. In her recent video "The Way You Love Me" she's licking doors, pelvic thrusting w/ tiny panties on legs wide open, singing "fuck me fuck me". That's not the Keri Hilson that so many of her fans fell in love with. She always had that sex appeal within that just exuded in anything that she does (not to mention she's gorgeous). So why now?

I'm thinking maybe it's because she didn't get the response she wanted from the first 2 singles she dropped, "Breaking Point" & "Pretty Girl Rock", from her sophomore album No Boys Allowed. She didn't even give it time to set into people's brain. On top of all that she does a video interview w/ Perez Hilton to defend the explicit video screaming out "sometimes I just wanna be fucked"! WORD KERI????

I previewed her No Boys Allowed album that hit stores December 21st and its not bad. It's pretty good. So was this just an publicity stunt to stir the pot some before the album drops?

Let me know your thoughts?

Checkin in on me, So I can check in with you!

Some of you have been to the site many times, but for you first timers welcome! Last night I decided I needed some sort of change in my life, so I said, "hey let me update my blog". Whole I'm at it how about being more active on it too! For the past year and half I can honestly say I haven't given my all to this blog. I could blame it on lack of inspiration, poor time management skills, or just the ups and downs of life. But that's when it all came back to me. For the longest I've always been the girl who had to make lists for everything (my friend Simona will attest to that). So when I stopped writing and journaling and blogging, when life got a little too complicated I let it take over me. But not anymore! Fab Life Of Summer B was initially me opening up a part of me for you all to see, but over time I stopped checking in on me and kind of got lost in the shuffle of life.

After lots of tears and bottles of Bartenura (my fave Moscato) I decided to make some changes. What better time to start than now? Why wait til January 1st to decide to make changes when I'm already doing them today? I hope you will enjoy what's soon to come!

O-Town to NYC Dinner with DJ Lady T

Dinner with the girls is so much fun. Especially when you haven't seen some friends as often as others. I went to dinner with Anne and, some of my girlfriends that I used to work with over at HOT 97, Andrea and Tiffany. Tiffany moved to Orlando 3 years ago to take an On Air position at Power 95.3FM and she was only in town for a few days so I just could not let her leave without me seeing her.

We had so much fun catching up and doing what girls do best...gossip! I just can't get over Tiffany singing the wrong lyrics to Rihanna's "Hard" song. "where them blockas at where them blockas" lol. It's we had to really google to the lyrics to see that she was really singing, "where them bloggers at where them bloggers at". LOL

Check out some of the pictures from our night.

New Singersroom.com Article: "Is It My Fault?"

Hey Dolls,

Check out my new article for
http://www.singersroom.com/ called, "Is It My Fault?". I like to listen to music draw out the central theme or topic and write on it relating to life. This weeks song is by a very talented singer and songwriter by the name of Wynter Gordon who is signed to Atlantic Records. If you read CD credits you will see her name for artist such as Mary J Blige, Danity Kane and J.Lo. She has been featured on songs with Flo Rida and David Guetta as well.

Her song "Created A Monster" really stood out to me because a lot of times women put up with half ass men for all the wrong reasons. Or women enable men to be lazy and not stepping up to the plate when we need them to.

Here is a link to the article "Is It My Fault?"

Be sure to leave comments on the Singersroom.com website and remember all comments are appreciated...Positive or Negative!

Summer Terry is added to Guys and Girls Team!

Hey Dolls,

I tell God works in mysterious ways. I am being blessed in so many ways that its crazy. Writing about love, heartbreak, and relationships is not the avenue I chose to write about. It sort of chose me. It's what naturally comes out when I start spilling my thought through this screen with you guys.

Due to that and some good word of mouth I have been added to the Guys and Girls Team on http://www.guysandgirlsonline.com/. There you will find tons of creativity from many different writers all contributing different styles of writing about relationships. I will be adding my voice to the mix so you can also check me out there expanding my writing branch to bigger things. They even did an introductory post about me so I feel very special. I have to thank Tasha Mitchell and Jim Hernandez! You guys are amazing!

Is Texting Ruining The Dating Process?

Hey Dolls,

In a day in age where technology is basically used for everything you can say its become a huge part of the average Americans life. You don't even have to have real life conversations anymore since they all seem to be so easy as a click of a button. This leads me to my question. Is texting ruining the dating process? And if so, how can we incorporate texting to make it more interesting?

I remember a time where you meet a guy, exchange information and actually get to hear his voice. You know what I mean. When those first couple of phone calls go on to the wee hours in the morning just getting to know each other. Finding out whats that person's favorite color, favorite food, what makes them laugh, what makes them angry, what their passions are, what their goals are. All the things people fail to find out because they lack those conversations. I ask myself does this even happen anymore? With everyone on these social networking sites such as myspace.com, tagged.com, twitter.com, and even facebook now it makes it so impersonal to get to know someone. Half the time people are fabricating who they really are and you never even know. But that's a whole other blog!

Then we have cell phones with the texting, BBM's (blackberry users), AIM's, Google chat, etc. I don't know who started this rumor that women would rather talk through text then actually receiving a phone call but its not true. Women actually love getting phone calls from the guy they're excited that they just met. Unfortunately, its either men have gotten lazy or they just don't know a phone call when getting to know a woman is way better than a text any day. Don't get it twisted, texting and all that other stuff can be fun as well if done correctly. So I'm going to set the record straight on some Do's and Don't when texting a lady!

1. Don't text me in place of the first getting to know each other phone call.
1. Do text me the next day letting me know it was nice to meet me.

2. Don't text me sexual thoughts you had of me after knowing me for only a month. We not that cool!
2. Do text me something sweet that is also respectful that you think will put a smile on my face.

3. Don't text me or call me for that matter after 10pm if that is the only time your fingers know my number. If that is the only time you have available to talk to me you got the wrong one here.
3. Do call or text me nice morning greetings to start my day off.

4. Don't text me if you want to ask me on a date? It makes you look weak. (To me at least)
4. Do call me if you want to ask me on a date.

5. Don't text me to have a serious conversation. Really how serious can it be through text?
5. Do call me if you have something serious to talk about. Its easier to read a person's voice and how they communicate when you can actually hear their voice.

So guys this post is not to scare you about texting it's just to let you know what a lady expects. Now if you are trying to attract little girls then those shenanigans might work but trust a real woman would not expect nothing less!

2009 NBA All Star Weekend in AZ

Hey Boo's,

So I'm sitting here looking through my pictures of the trips I've taken this year so far and I came across my 2009 NBA All Star pictures. This trip was so fun. Not because of the obvious but because the entire trip we couldn't find not one fun event. Maybe we were looking in the wrong places but it was such a wreck that it was funny. The first night we ended up going to Stoudemire's Downtown. That's the night I was introduced to the Stanky Leg ha ha ha!

Although we had some bumps during the trip we did make our own fun by dining and dressing up for everything. The last day we did find out where everyone was hiding. The jumpoff wasn't at the clubs it was all day at the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall. I mean I had never seen so many people dress to impress just to hit the mall. So we went and ate at the Kona Grill and watched the game and did some funny sight seeings because it was seating outside. The only bad thing was we were there for like 5 or 6 hours because the place ran out of chicken! Yea, they ran out of chicken so alot of peoples orders were on hold. In the meantime we just drank and drank and had a ball. We even chatted it up with Power 105.1FM's Ed Lover and took back some shots. Such a funny guy. I had so many shots of Patron that night when we went back to the hotel to change for the Akon party that night I passed out on the bed in my dress. What a night!

What are some of your Drunken Hot Girl moments?

Happy Birthday Banana Cake

Hey Boo's,

I'm surrounded by so many Taurus people and I can't complain. Taurus are very cool and fun people. My fave Taurus Anna Banana just celebrated a birthday not too long ago and we all went to Benihanna's to celebrate with an amazing dinner. Afterward we decided to walk around the corner to Pop Burger for some drinks and good music.

Good food, fun and friends is always the great mixture for a great night.

Tell me about some of your fave nights with your friends.

Bahamas Like Right NOOOWWW!

Hey Boo's,

Ok so I never been out the country before until this year. I took my very first trip out the country with my BFF Diandra, her sister Yazmin, and friends Denise and Jennise to the Bahamas. We stayed at the wonderful all inclusive Breezes resort in Nassau. It was amazing! From the crystal blue water, to the Booze Cruise, laying out on the beach and poolside.

Some of you are probably thinking why is this posting titled Bahamas Like Right Noooowww? Well the entire trip (once tipsy to the tenth power) I would do impressions of Feisty from For the Love of Ray J's voice. If you can remember her infamous line was always "like right now" lol. You had to be there. But I had everyone cracking up.

I'm already feening to go lay on the beach some more after this trip.

Have any of you been anywhere fabulous this year as of yet? Let me know.

Smooches!
