I tell God works in mysterious ways. I am being blessed in so many ways that its crazy. Writing about love, heartbreak, and relationships is not the avenue I chose to write about. It sort of chose me. It's what naturally comes out when I start spilling my thought through this screen with you guys.

Due to that and some good word of mouth I have been added to the Guys and Girls Team on http://www.guysandgirlsonline.com/. Is Texting Ruining The Dating Process?

Hey Dolls,

In a day in age where technology is basically used for everything you can say its become a huge part of the average Americans life. You don't even have to have real life conversations anymore since they all seem to be so easy as a click of a button. This leads me to my question. Is texting ruining the dating process? And if so, how can we incorporate texting to make it more interesting?

I remember a time where you meet a guy, exchange information and actually get to hear his voice. You know what I mean. When those first couple of phone calls go on to the wee hours in the morning just getting to know each other. Finding out whats that person's favorite color, favorite food, what makes them laugh, what makes them angry, what their passions are, what their goals are. All the things people fail to find out because they lack those conversations. I ask myself does this even happen anymore? With everyone on these social networking sites such as myspace.com, tagged.com, twitter.com, and even facebook now it makes it so impersonal to get to know someone. Half the time people are fabricating who they really are and you never even know. But that's a whole other blog!

Then we have cell phones with the texting, BBM's (blackberry users), AIM's, Google chat, etc. I don't know who started this rumor that women would rather talk through text then actually receiving a phone call but its not true. Women actually love getting phone calls from the guy they're excited that they just met. Unfortunately, its either men have gotten lazy or they just don't know a phone call when getting to know a woman is way better than a text any day. Don't get it twisted, texting and all that other stuff can be fun as well if done correctly. So I'm going to set the record straight on some Do's and Don't when texting a lady!

1. Don't text me in place of the first getting to know each other phone call.
1. Do text me the next day letting me know it was nice to meet me.

2. Don't text me sexual thoughts you had of me after knowing me for only a month. We not that cool!
2. Do text me something sweet that is also respectful that you think will put a smile on my face.

3. Don't text me or call me for that matter after 10pm if that is the only time your fingers know my number. If that is the only time you have available to talk to me you got the wrong one here.
3. Do call or text me nice morning greetings to start my day off.

4. Don't text me if you want to ask me on a date? It makes you look weak. (To me at least)
4. Do call me if you want to ask me on a date.

5. Don't text me to have a serious conversation. Really how serious can it be through text?
5. Do call me if you have something serious to talk about. Its easier to read a person's voice and how they communicate when you can actually hear their voice.

So guys this post is not to scare you about texting it's just to let you know what a lady expects. Now if you are trying to attract little girls then those shenanigans might work but trust a real woman would not expect nothing less!

Making My Next Move The Right Move

So I haven't written in while and that's mainly because I haven't been inspired to write anything. That all changed today. After doing my radio show, The Industry Takeover every Sat. 12pm-2pm on PNCRADIO.FM, with my lovely co-host Miss Nina Leigh we decided to have a power lunch/dinner with our very own, Diddy, Chad Scott. Well at this outing we talked on the topics of relationships, love, and all that good stuff. Now everyone who knows me knows I'm a hopeless romantic. Well I used to be! That falling in love at first sight stuff doesn't happen anymore. Especially when most people don't even know how to respect the person they claim to be in love with. You have people recklessly falling into lust calling that shit love! Seriously??? That's what you're going to try to pawn it off as?



At this time in my life I'm not looking for that perfect soul mate because in all actually it doesn't exist. So I'm on my Solange flow and I decided to trade that image of that "Perfect Couple" for that "Power Couple". Someone who is going to add to my movement as much as I'm going to add to his. That mean respecting what each one brings to the table, being loyal and knowing the line of respect that should never be crossed. Someone where all my success is a reflection of him and all his success is a reflection of me. Once all that falls into place love will come along. Just this time Baby Girl is not chasing after it.

Shedding all the B.S from the summer and refocusing on BIGGER BEGINNINGS AND BIGGER $$$$!

Sunny skies, beautiful summer nights, trips to the beach, cookouts every weekend have come to a halt as we descended upon Labor Day weekend. This is the weekend that we all know as the definition of "The End of Summer"! I can't complain about the summer I had this year. I lost some old friends and gained some new friends, lost one opportunity to only gain a hand full of more blessings, and learned more about myself within these past 3 months than I have in my life. Why does it take hurdles for you to notice the strength inside you? Without those times I would not have been able to weed out certain people, trust others and most importantly myself.

What most of you don't know is that I am a very private person but I decided to open up when I decided to start this blog. Anyone can have a blog where they discuss other peoples' personal lives but it takes a lot of courage to open up your life to criticism. For someone who used to care so much about what other people thought I just couldn't do it anymore. I'm pretty DOPE and I LOVE myself more than ever!

Enough of the mushy stuff, lol. This summer of mine would not have been the same without my Anna Banana, Shakeera, Didi and Nina. This summer has been AMAZING and I cannot wait to see what the Fall & Winter 09 have in stored for me! Whatever it is you guys are welcome to ride this journey with me.

Why is NY Terrestrial Radio Scared to Break New Artist?

Hey Dolls,

I had a insightful conversation with one of my dear friends today about music, life and the future of Hip Hop. What struck me the most during that chat was how supportive southern states are when it comes to new emerging artists. New York on the other hand is one of those states that only accepts you after someone else gives you the "Yea you Poppin" stamp! It's what I call "dick-riding" in this industry. To me this is one of the reasons terrestrial radio is failing. That and the lack of good on air talent but I'll touch on that in a minute.

It's common for unsigned artists to promote themselves via the web such as myspace, twitter, youtube, etc. But to get noticed from just those avenues of branding is amazing! Will it ever happen in New York? Would a normal New Yorker just walk up to a random person from recognizing them on the web for their talents give a compliment or lend a hand to help in some way? Not likely! I don't know why this state is so bent up on keeping one another down. It's too stressful. Look at the state of New York Hip Hop. You have northern rappers such as 50 Cent and Eminem whose sole purpose is to destroy other northern rappers to get to the top. Then you have the southern artists such as Jeezy, T.I, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Ludacris, etc who all embrace each other. This is why Hip Hop in the south is so affluent. People open your eyes and see this game for what it is and work it to your best advantage.

I for one am a big supporter for Internet radio. Not because I host a show, The Industry Takeover every Saturday 12pm-2pm, on PNCRADIO.fm but because it gives the on air personalities and DJ's the chance to help emerging artists out by letting their music be heard in a regular rotation. We have the luxury of doing so with out Program Directors and Music Coordinators telling us what we have to play, when we have to play it, and who we can have on the show as guests.

I been in love with HIP HOP for as long as I can remember and I will be damned if I take part the DESTRUCTION of HIP HOP!

PNCRADIO Live Stream at SoleFood NYC

Yesterday I hosted my radio show , The Industry Takeover, on PNCRADIO.FM live from The Source and SoleFood NYC Back 2 School Block Party. This event was for the kids so they can fave fun before school begins, score free gifts, and enjoy some good music. I even gave away some G-Force giveaways to the kiddies. I had so much fun.

DJ John Black was on the turntables, while The Source Magazine gave aways some special Swag Bags that included Michael Jackson Cd's, T-Shirts, and their newest issue to the winners. However, everyone who came out to the event received gift bags with the August and July 2009 Source issues and a Barack Obama t-shirt. Later on in the event there was a raffle giveaway by SoleFood NYC and The Source Magazine. Raffle winners got some of the best gifts. Three lucky people won a cardboard poster size of a special addition MJ cover, and SoleFood NYC gave aways some customized sneakers.

There was a dope breakin dancing crew there called the Full Circle Cadets. They put on an awesome show and even tried to teach some of the kids the basics of Breakin. There was this one cute little boy who danced his tail off, from MJ moves, to breaking. He put on his own show.

I even bumped into a few friends, Mike G from The Source, all my PNC heads, Harrabic Tubman, G.O.D, & DJ Vega Benneton (Show N Prove Radio), Don Will, Von Pea & Che Grand (Lessondary Radio), and J.Arch, FT & Musicman (Push Radio). This event was also great for networking!
